Greater Iowa Lakes Hoops Academy

K - 8th Grade Girls and Boys

The Greater Iowa Lakes Hoops Academy is a skill and development focused program for both boys and girls grades K-8th. The goal of the Academy is to introduce participants to the Greater Iowa Lakes basketball philosophy as well as exposing players to the fundamentals of the game.  The academy will not only strive to teach the game of basketball but will also focus on sportsmanship, pride, dedication, work ethic, and the importance of academic excellence. 

All Greater Iowa Lakes Hoops Academy members will learn man-to-man defense, offensive concepts, be exposed to extensive skill training and learn basic basketball principals. Each month you will see improvement in your child’s basketball IQ (knowledge of the game), basketball fundamentals, as well as a better knowledge of the Greater Iowa Lakes Region basketball system which puts them at an advantage as they enter High School. 

Program Key Components:

  • Development of solid fundamental skills for later success
  • Help each player grow within the sport of basketball
  • Provide each athlete the opportunity to maximize their talent
  • Develop leadership qualities for success in and outside of basketball
